Designed with animators in mind

Who are we, exactly, then?

Hi, my name's Paul and I'm the chief developer of Express Animator. (That's me in the lovely blue sweatshirt pretending to lean on some imaginary text). We are currently based in Newcastle, England. The weather is terrible here but fortunately that is not important for our main interest which are is in computer animation.

We all like cartoons and animation - from the humour of the Simpsons and Family Guy to the darker world of Japanese Anime such as Akira and Ghost in the Shell. So we thought, wouldn't it be great to have some software that would help people make animations of their own which would be easy and affordable? Well, that's exactly what we did. The result - Express Animator. Of course, you could use it to make boring things such as website titles, banners and so on but we hope you will use it to be creative and create great original animations.

We always like hearing from people who have used our software in a creative way, so please let us know how you get on. We also want our software to be easy and quick to use - which we know is vital for the animating process - so if you have any suggestions on how we can improve Express Animator or you have ideas on things we could add then let me know. My email is paul@expressanimator.com

If you get stuck on a particular issue you can help from other users in our forums.

Thanks!

These are my recomendations, for what its worth. They may not be to everyone's taste but I like them:

This is the classic Japanese cartoon that got the whole thing rolling. It is quite a disturbing film base as it is on the after effects of a nuclear bomb. But it is stunningly drawn.
This series is based on the animated film by the same name. The animation is, to be honest, mostly a bit rubbish, not having the budget of many American companies, but the stories are quite interesting if you like science fiction so you don't notice too much.
This film probably makes more sense if you are Japanese. This film is in the little-girl-goes-on-fantastic-journey genre, much like Alice in Wonderland, the Labyrinth, Wizard of Oz, etc. but with a uniquely Japanese flavour. If I was three years old it would probably scare the life out of me!
